Advent Collections
Who do we serve?
The poor and needy in Baltimore City through our partners: Happy Helpers for the Homeless, Our Daily Bread, The Franciscan Center, and the parish outreaches at St. Gregory, St. Veronica, and Corpus Christi Catholic Churches.
What do we do?
On three Advent Weekends, we collect NEW items for our service partners to distribute to those they serve. We usually collect small (<18 inches) stuffed animals; scarves, hats, and gloves; and sweaters and warm shirts. Check the bulletin for collection dates.

PLEASE NOTE: since these are Christmas gifts, we only accept NEW items for these collections; used items can be donated in the St. Vincent de Paul donation box outside the Parish Center.
When do we do it?
Late November through mid December.
Where do we serve?
All outreach activities occur at Resurrection.

Photos and appreciation
Representatives from the Franciscan Center talk with Fr. John about the hundreds of warm shirts and sweaters for the clients of the Center.
The Advent Collections developed as an ancillary program to “Adopt-A-Family,” to provide an option for people who did not have the time or resources to adopt a family during the holidays. Now that the "Adopt a Family" program has changed to provide mostly gift cards, the Advent Collections are another way that parish families can shop together to buy items like stuffed animals and blankets for children in need.
